How to join Community Supported AgricultureThe way CSA works is that you become a member and can subscribe to the basket system which is one of the members privileges. The first step is to get in touch with Karin: karin.d.berlin@telia.com . Ask for a list of the l groups and their locations and find the one closest to you. Then you can become a member and join one of the groups. The 200:- membership fee is only paid the first year and then you are a member as long as you want to. Every year you need to renew your reservation of the baskets so we know how many to grow vegetables for. The subscription is for 15 baskets and starts at the end of July or beginning of August. We deliver one basket per week. You can see a list of what we put in our baskets every week by looking under "produktlistan" In that file is an archive with the last three years and you can see approximately what to expect in your basket during the different seasons. You can join anytime during the year. In the winter we also have baskets sometimes and you can also order extra vegetables when you want to. You only pay for the baskets you get. Our post giro number is 4 499 319-4 We base our system on mutual trust between the members and the farmer (Anders) and we listen to you if you want us to grow a vegetable we do not yet have. This way you get a variety of the vegetables you can grow in Sweden. We also give tips about cooking in the Norther Foods Cookbook. Commonly asked questions: What does it cost? The whole basket costs 280:- and an half a basket costs 180:- . We also have a "share" basket which contains two baskets delivered in one. That costs 340:- Where do I pick up my basket? Ask for the file about the groups and write in an email which is the best place for you to pick up your basket. At the moment there is room is most of the groups. Otherwise you can be on the waiting list or chose another until a spot opens up. We also make new groups according to demand. If you know of an appropriate location please let us know. Can I cancel my basket sometimes or start later? You can start when you get back from holidays or later in the season and then there will be fewer baskets or if you prefer it you can also take a double basket on occasion. You can cancel sometimes and we prefer to be told at least a week in advance. What are members privileges? The baskets are delivered between August and December (plus winter baskets when we have vegetables in stock) but members can shop the whole season, buying extra vegetables or things not usual to the basket, like the farms own honey. You can come out the the farm to shop or order more of a specific vegetable to be delivered together with your basket if you order at least one week before delivery. You can come out and help farm or pack baskets or just visit for a look around. We are only 20 kilometers north of Uppsala and the bus goes often. Contact us for directions via Karin at 018 370921 or karin.d.berlin@telia.com Do you have fruit too? We only put our vegetables in the basket but members can come out and pick raspberries or apples. Sometimes we have vegetables for picking yourself too. I would like to see a basket before I join: You can see them at the Svartbäcken groups location which is a store called Svenska Delikatesser. Both whole and half baskets are there after 18:00 to 20:00. You can also shop while there as they have homemade food products for sale. Ask for their flyer. You can watch our video where we pack the baskets to see how they look in the summer Those were the questions but if you want to know anything please send an email to: karin.d.berlin@telia.com or phone 018 370 921 and speak with Karin or Anders |
